Weight Loss Problems Despite Following All the Conventional Wisdom

So I have been having trouble for some while now losing weight, despite eating only 1900-2200 calories a day and swimming for an hour 4-5 times a week.  I eat lots of raw veggies and negative calorie foods, I track everything I eat and all the exercise I do to make sure I am in the zone, I have six small meals a deal (despite the fact that I loathe eating like that), I drink lots of water.  After three months of this, I haven’t lost a single pound or shaved a centimeter off my waist.  In fact, I am gaining body fat.  As well my energy and motivation have just fallen through the floor as of a few weeks ago.  They’d been steadily declining for some little while, but I can hardly haul myself out of bed and I’m just lying there for 14 hours a day.  Very bad!

I went to the doctor to try and get a handle on it, and there was some bloodwork and other investigations carried out.  I was dreading that they were going to say it was chronic fatigue syndrome or something similar that can’t really be treated.  Since I have other chronic conditions that are often co-morbid with CFS, it was a real possibility (bullshit stuff like fibromyalgia, TMJ, interstitial cystitis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.)  Thankfully, the tests showed that my testosterone levels were abnormally low – easy to fix with hormone replacement therapy!  I just need to get a needle full of testosterone in the glutes once every two weeks.  It was a huge relief to have a condition that would respond to an easy fix.

We’ll see how it goes, but since my symptoms are absolutely typical it should be smooth sailing with the TRT.  It’ll be nice not to be stuck as an eunuch 😀
